VIDEO: Robbie Fowler Re-joins Liverpool as Official Ambassador
If there’s one name that synonymous with Liverpool and scoring goals then that name has to be Robbie Fowler. The living legend, who joined up with the academy last October as a mentor, has strengthened his already unbreakable bond with the Reds even further by accepting a role as an official ambassador. In the wake of the announcement, it’s hard to say who’s more excited about this – him or the club.
“Liverpool has been a massive part of my life for 30 years now,” he told the official website after accepting the role. “It’s been an honour to play for this club and it’s even more of a privilege to be asked to be an ambassador. I’m looking forward to representing this great club and will do all I can to support success both on and off the pitch.”
Fowler, who scored 183 goals during two spells with the Reds, is also a brand ambassador for Liverpool’s kit manufacturer Warrior Sports as well as a mentor at the club’s youth academy along with fellow ex-players Steve McManaman and Rob Jones. According to the press release, in his new role he’s going to have to attend matches, work with commercial partners, support club-wide initiatives and continue in his current academy role.
Sounds like quite the graft…
