Warrior Sports Scores the Winner with Liverpool Third Kit

After launching a rather subdued home shirt and a yellow away kit that harkens back to Liverpool’s more traditional second shirt, American sportswear company Warrior Sports have officially launched the Reds third kit for the season, and as expected, it’s a bit out of left field.

Except, unlike their previous two offerings, this one actually works quite well. The grey and black hooped effort isn’t too much of a stretch, but the red sash made it look a little too busy in the leaked images, but now that we can see the players actually sporting the kit, it’s not as bad as originally feared. The collar really makes it pop — a sentiment shared by Liverpool legend Luis Garcia.

“I love the way this shirt looks,” the former Reds attacker enthused. “The red collar on the black shirt gives it a very stylish look and as always, Warrior has incorporated the best material and details to keep players comfortable whilst playing.”

Although there’s no possible way it’s ever going to outsell the traditional home shirt or even the retro inspired away effort, it’s nice to see a half decent third strip for once. We’re sure we’ll see it on more than one occasion during Liverpool’s up-coming pre-season matches.
