According to French source Soccer Link, the European Champions have opened talks to secure a new deal with the Senegalese international, who has been in sensational form for both the club and the country,
In the last campaign, he scored 22 league goals and won the PL Golden Boot award and without doubt, he was our best attacking player in the second half of the campaign.
Moreover, the former Southampton attacker was influential for Senegal in the African Cup of Nations. Unfortunately, the Lions lost to Algeria in the final of the competition.
The 27-year-old speedy winger has arguably been our best player so far this season. In all competitions, he has made 6 appearances, scored as many goals and also provided an assist.
In all fairness, it will not come as any surprise if he ends up winning the African Footballer of the Year award.
Mane’s current contract with the Reds will expire in 2023 and at the moment, he earns around £150,000-a-week (The Guardian), £50,000 less than Liverpool’s highest earner, Mohamed Salah (The Daily Mail).
