Alisson and Firmino shine in Brazil’s victory over Argentina

Last night, hosts Brazil defeated rivals Argentina 2-0 to qualify for the final of the Copa America and Liverpool duo of Alisson and Firmino had a fantastic night.

Roberto Firmino scored his second goal and provided his third assist of the tournament to eliminate the La Albiceleste.

Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring in the 20th minute of the contest. Brazil’s skipper Dani Alves skipped past challenges and found Firmino on the right wing. The Liverpool star provided a pin-point low ball across the face of goal and Jesus, who was unmarked, slotted the ball in the net.

In the 72nd minute, Jesus returned the favor. The Man City center forward dribbled past two defenders and passed the ball to Firmino, who made no mistake in doubling Brazil’s lead.

On the other hand, Alisson kept yet another clean sheet. The former Roma star last conceded a goal (for club and country) against Newcastle United last month.

Since then, he has won the Premier League Golden Glove award, the European Cup and now he has reached the final of the Copa America.

The Samba stars will now collide against Peru or defending champions Chile in the final of the competition on Sunday.
