Report – Klopp loves £72million playmaker, would not block Salah’s departure
This month, Liverpool have been linked with Ivorian international Nicolas Pepe a lot and recently, a French outlet has come up with another report.
According to an exclusive story covered by Le10Sport, Liverpool have forwarded a transfer offer for the Lille playmaker but the Ligue 1 club are not convinced.
News – Move close – £25million star ready to secure Liverpool exit
The renowned French source have claimed that Jurgen Klopp loves Pepe and Liverpool’s interest in luring him is real.
June 2019:
On 6th June, L’Equipe claimed that the European Champions have come close to matching Lille’s 80 million euros (£72million) asking price.
On 8th June, renowned journalist Nicolo Schira, who works for La Gazzetta Dello Sport, tweeted that Liverpool have offered a fee of 80 million euros to the French club and a five year contract to the player that will make him earn 3 million euros annaully.
Few hours after Schira’s tweet, another famous journalist in the form of Mohamed Bouhafsi, who works for RMC Sport, claimed that Liverpool are well placed to lure the African star.
So, it will be fair if we believe the claim made by Le10Sport that Liverpool’s interest in Pepe is real. However, the French outlet have made another claim, which is discussed below.
Klopp’s relation with Salah:
Le10Sport have stated the case of Pepe is gaining momentum at Anfield so much so that it would disrupt the already complicated relation between Klopp and Salah.
The French source have mentioned that the German manager would not rule out selling the Egyptian international if he can secure the signing of the 24-year-old Lille winger.
Back in April, Spanish source AS came up with a report and stated that Salah had a strong discussion with Klopp and wants to leave Liverpool. However, this rumor was dismissed by Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas Issa.
Moahamed Salah’s importance:
At Anfield, Salah is the first choice right winger under Klopp and he has been brilliant for the club.
Since he completed his move to Liverpool, no one has scored more goals for the team than the Egyptian. He broke the Premier League goal-scoring record in 2017-18 by finding the net 32 times and deservedly won the PFA Player of the Year award.
The former Roma man is without doubt one of the most important/loved players at Anfield. Last term, he scored 27 goals in all competitions and helped the team win the Champions League.
Do you think that anyone at Liverpool would want the superstar playmaker gone?
