Three key battles that may decide Liverpool vs Spurs – CL Final

Liverpool will collide against Spurs in the Champions League final hoping to win their sixth European Cup.

The Reds were defeated by Real Madrid in the last year’s final and we do know that Klopp has already lost three European finals in his career. Will he be able to finally win the ultimate prize? Only time will tell.

In the Premier League, Liverpool defeated Tottenham both home and away but the north Londoners have played at a different level in the Champions League so the contest could be very intriguing.

In my opinion, here are the three key battles that may decide the outcome of the CL final:

Firmino vs Vertonghen/Alderweireld

Roberto Firmino could not feature in the second leg against Barca due to a muscle injury but he has recovered well and it will not come as any surprise to see him start vs Spurs.

The Brazilian international scored in both the PL contests against Tottenham and his movement and combination with the likes of Salah and Mane could provide to be vital.

The Belgian duo of Vertonghen and Alderweireld are two of the top central defenders in England and they have got to neutralize Firmino to stop Liverpool.

Fabinho vs Eriksen/Alli

In my opinion, Fabinho has been our signing of the season. We needed a solid defensive midfielder and the Brazilian international has proved to be a hit.

The former Monaco man was immense vs Barcelona in the Champions League and he should be responsible to stop the creative brilliance of quality players like Eriksen and Alli.

The Danish star has directly contributed in 27 goals this season and the England international provided two sublime assists to knock Ajax out of the competition.

Van Dijk vs Son

Virgil van Dijk has been our best player this season without doubt. Similarly, Son has been Tottenham’s best player. The South Korean star has excelled in the absence of Harry Kane and this season, he has so far scored 20 goals and provided 10 assists in 47 appearances.

Our Dutch superstar is arguably the best central defender in the world and he has been able to halt the best of attacks with his world class talent and leadership at the back. He needs to be at his best for Liverpool to win the trophy.

Prediction: Liverpool 2-1 Tottenham
