How Liverpool could line up with £52million star

After losing the Premier League title by just a single point, Liverpool would surely want to strengthen their squad to topple Manchester City next season.

Not so long ago, Liepzig CEO Mintzlaff claimed that German international Timo Werner could leave the club and decide to join Liverpool in the summer (BuliNews).

I think the 23-year-old star, who is valued at £52million (Sport Bild), would be a fantastic addition to Liverpool’s attacking department, which surely needs more depth.

The question is, where will Werner fit in if he does end up moving to Anfield?

Jurgen Klopp has mainly utilized Firmino in the No.9 role in his free flowing attacking system but it must be remembered that the Samba star is not a natural center forward.

As far as the strike-force is concerned, Origi has been top quality recently but in my view, he is still not enough to regularly start for the club. Moreover, Daniel Sturridge will be out of contract next month, the former Chelsea striker is past his best and he should be offloaded. On the other hand, Brewster is inexperienced for now.

Therefore, a proven quality out and out striker should be lured and Werner fits the bill. If the move is somehow completed, then I think Klopp should regularly utilize Firmino in the No. 10 role behind the German star, who should start as the main center forward up front.
