Lacazette Drops Hint Over Future, Interested by Premier League Move

Although he’s being strongly tipped to move to Arsenal this summer, Liverpool are known to retain an interest in Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp keen to strengthen his side all over the park this summer.

Talks with AS Roma winger Mohamed Salah are underway with the Egyptian already agreeing to personal terms at Anfield and ahead of a Champions League qualifier in August, they’re leading in the race to lure highly rated Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk away from St. Mary’s Stadium as they look to compete not only in Europe, but in the Premier League as well — a place the Frenchman already admitted interests him.

“That could be an interesting option,” said Lacazette when asked by Eurosport about the possibility making the move to England. “It is a great league with interesting teams,” added the 26-year old before cutting short any talk of an imminent move. “For the moment, those are only rumours.”

If two marquee signings isn’t quite enough, the Frenchman could very well be a third — Liverpool have already shown that they’re willing to go head to head with the likes of Manchester City over wages and they’re almost certain to be able to offer something the Gunners can’t in top class European football. Rumours continue to swirl that Reds striker Daniel Sturridge could be on the move during the transfer window and should Lacazette be persuaded to move to Merseyside rather than the Capital, Arsenal could renew their interest in the injury prone hit-man. Despite all of that, the Frenchman is notorious for transfer talk only to end up staying in France and Lyon have made it known time and again that they’re not interested in letting him leave. Regardless, he won’t be making any decisions until after his international commitments are done and dusted — so, in other words, don’t hold your breath.
