Bayern Munich Supremo Tells Mario Gotze to Join Liverpool

As rumours linking Bayern Munich attacking midfielder Mario Gotze with a move to Liverpool continue to gather steam, he’s been outright told by club president and Germany legend Franz Beckenbauer to go to Anfield after being told by incoming boss Carlo Ancelotti that he should find a new club if he wants first team football.

“I would, in his place, go to a place where I feel comfortable,” the Munich man told Sky Deutschland. “I have the impression that Mario has not felt right in Munich and also has not been understood, so that he could show his full potential,” continued Beckenbauer, sounding a tinge regretful that Gotze’s time at the Allianz Stadium wasn’t more fruitful. “I would in his place go where I am comfortable and follow in the footsteps of Jurgen Klopp.”

This, of course, comes hot on the heels of the Reds lodging a reported £20mil bid for his services as the Anfield outfit looks to pip the likes of Italian champions Juventus and Premier League rivals Arsenal to his signature. Heading in to the Europa League final with Sevilla next week, Liverpool will be looking to not only secure their first piece of silverware under Klopp, but also give him Champions League football to offer his incoming recruits — something that could tip the scale in their favour in their pursuit of Gotze.

Scoring twice in Bayern’s last match of the season, the talented 23-year old gave us a reminder of just what he can do when given the chance, but a lack of playing time in Bavaria has pushed the talented 23-year old towards the door and a reunion with the now Reds manager could very well be on the cards though neither have been able to make any concrete comments on the matter. Gotze has said he won’t make a decision on his future until after the European Championships in France this summer, but that could very well change if the Reds secure a shiny piece of silver in Basel next week…
