Reds ‘Keeper Mignolet Helping Origi Prepare for Life at Liverpool

Moving to another country and another league can be a stressful experience for young players, but Liverpool striker Divock Origi, who headed back to Ligue One club Lille for a season long loan after signing for the Reds in the summer, has revealed that compatriot Simon Mignolet is helping get ready for life on Merseyside.

“Just some typical questions about the club, the atmosphere, how the club is doing and about the life in Liverpool because it’s a big change for me,” said the young Belgian in a new interview with the clubs official website. “Simon has helped me a lot and given me a lot of information about the city. He told me it’s a nice city and advised me on where you can live and the nice places to go. He told me he really likes it and feels at home there.”

The Anfield outfit have struggled for goals this term with the ongoing injury woes of star striker Daniel Sturridge, the departure of Luis Suarez in the summer and Mario Balotelli’s struggles to adapt to life in the Liverpool system all playing a role in our problems in front of the net. Although he’s not expected to make an immediate impact, Origi is excited by the challenge of playing for one of the worlds biggest clubs and running out in front of a baying Kop.

“He told me it is a special feeling, but that’s something I knew already. He told me before every game there is a fantastic atmosphere from the supporters and everybody at the club, which helps you to play even better. It makes me excited because it’s something I want to experience,” he explained before going on to reveal that he’s already getting good support from the club. “Some people from the team’s management have also sent me some messages and let me know they’re watching all the games. It’s very nice to have the team supporting me and watching often.”
