Divock Origi Set to be Recalled from Lille Loan in January?
It sounds like a bit of a stretch, but rumour has it that Liverpool will be recalling on-loan striker Divock Origi from Lille to help ease their problems up top.
The return of Daniel Sturridge, who was ruled out for over three-weeks after injuring his thigh on England duty last month, will surely help Reds boss Brendan Rodgers with his scoring headache, but with the 19-year old Belgian in good form, a return from Ligue One could very well be on the cards. Origi joined Liverpool from Lille for a fee in the region of £12mil over the summer, but was promptly loaned back to the French side to keep his rapid progression on track.
While there’s little doubt that Rodgers would like to keep him moving forward, whether or not it’ll be in the Premier League remains to be seen. According to a number of sources, the Northern Irishman is willing to pay a substantial amount of compensation to the French side to recall the youngster early.
It’s still early in the season, but with Mario Balotelli yet to find the net in league play, Rickie Lambert having a hard time breaking into the first team and Fabio Borini once again looking likely to depart in January, Origi — who has scored four goals in eleven appearances for Lille so far this year — could not only fit right into the young team that Rodgers has assembled on Merseyside, but he could also show them a thing or two about scoring goals.
Pathetic situation. Recalling the kid back from loan. Just spend the damn money and buy a world class striker Brenda. Liverpool will be a laughing stock with this move.
If we send them Borini on loan it could be the best thing for all involved.
A good move I believe.
