Suarez’s Lawyer Gets in on the Real Madrid Talk

Dance, boys, dance

Even though he’s out injured, the speculation surrounding the future of Liverpool striker Luis Suarez remains just as intense as ever. Although his agent has remained surprisingly tight lipped on the matter, his lawyer, Alejandro Balbi, has given a bizarre interview with a Spanish radio stadio discussing the matter.

The striker, who signed a new long-term contract at Anfield after last summer’s shenanigans ended with primary owner John W. Henry flat out refusing to sell him, has repeatedly insisted that he’s happy on Merseyside and has denied any special clause giving him an iron clad escape route should certain teams — namely Real Madrid or Barcelona — submit a suitable bid for his services. With Champions League football secure and the future looking bright for Suarez at Liverpool, one would think that there’d be little reason to leave, but his lawyer isn’t so sure.

Although the Reds would likely rebuff any approach for their prized striker, Balbi thinks he would have a hard time resisting the advances of the Champions League winners. “A year ago he was very likely to leave Liverpool,” he explained in an interview with Spanish radio network Cadena Ser. “Now I think it is very difficult because he is an idol, although clubs can offer a lot of money. If there is such a big offer from Real Madrid, it is very difficult to say no. Luis Suarez has always had a predisposition for Spain.”

Like many South American footballers, Spain is seen as an ideal destination to ply their trade with a welcoming climate and both a familiar language and way of life a major bonus for their families. As rumours continue to swirl at the Santiago Bernabéu regarding the futures of strikers Álvaro Morata and Karim Benzema, a bid from Carlo Ancelotti’s side could very well be forthcoming.

Or, of course, this could just be his lawyer trying to step into the spotlight for a brief moment — something that’s obviously bang out of order.

Yet another none sense story. Nothing but an OPINION by a third party. When will these feature writers present the full facts such as his family and children love Liverpool and won’t move. Suarez himself is very happy at LFC and most importantly the chairman won’t sell him. So move on guys. Everybody else has.

Not sure what his lawyer is doing flapping his gums on this, but, stating a desire to do something and actually doing it are two totally different things.

I say cash in £120 mil plenty of teams out there doing better then lfc without the best striker in the world in there squad 120 mil can go along way over the next few transfer windows I’d start with dropping 40 mil on Costa just to bend chelsea over!

If Madrid come in with a crazy money offer, it’d be hard not to cash in. Selling him off to a team in another league isn’t quite as risky as selling him to another Premier League club.

Not sure about Diego Costa though — I think his move to Chelsea is already wrapped up. Staggering to consider the possibilities of who we could snap up though.

That being said, I personally wouldn’t sell him.

his lawyer is just looking a cut from any world record transfer. if his client is happy he shouldn’t be trying to turn his head. it would break my heart if he left. no amount of money would make me sell personally. but Liverpool f.c existed before saurez & will long after. just £100+ richer.
