After two questionable efforts, it looks like kit manufacturer Warrior Sports got it bang on with the new Liverpool away kit for the 2014/2015 season.

Much like the new home kit, the new away kit is a simple design that has a less is more aesthetic to it. Drawing inspiration from the classic designs of the late seventies and mid-eighties, the yellow and red harken back to a more successful time in the Merseyside club’s illustrious history. Safe to say, it’s perfect timing on their part.

With a 101-goals scored last season, the Reds finished runners up to Manchester City after pushing the title race to the final day. With new two kits invoking the spirit of the past and the squad playing some of the best football we’ve seen in the Premier League era, it’s starting to look — both literally and figuratively — like we’re making a return to those successful times.
