VIDEO: Suso vs. Espanyol

It’s been a good year for Liverpool, hasn’t it? Despite losing out to Chelsea over the weekend, the Merseyside outfit remain top of the league with two matches left to play, and not only that, a number of the players they sent out on loan this season continue to give Reds boss Brendan Rodgers food for thought. We’ve been tracking the exploits of young attacking-midfielder Suso quite closely and we’re happy to report that he put in another blistering performance as Almeria took a massive step towards securing their top flight status.

With the Andalusian side trailing 1-0 at the break, boss Francisco Rodríguez introduced Suso to the mix in the 55th minute to great affect with two sides level shortly after. With the Spanish outfit mired in a relegation scrap, the one point they’d earn from a draw wouldn’t quite cut the mustard, but the youngster made sure that his side would take maximum points with a sweetly struck free-kick putting them ahead. “It was one of the best goals of my career,” said Suso. “But not just because it was a free kick, but because it was so important in regards to the situation of this club.”

Although the 20-year old’s immediate future looks a bit murky with reports that he could stay on in Spain for another year doing the rounds, he’s keeping up to date on what’s going on back home with frequent chats with Reds boss Brendan Rodgers making sure his connection to Liverpool stays very much intact. “I speak with Brendan regularly, we are always in contact and I’m also in touch with other people at the club,” said the talented youngster. “For those reasons I still feel part of the club and, when possible, I have watched the majority of their matches this season.”

With Champions League football already secured for the upcoming campaign, we just might see Suso back at the club next season — whether we want him there or not. Who can resist Anfield on one of those glorious European nights?

Suso has shown lots of talent if he can get his stamina up he could the next Adam Lelana, But I don’t think he is ready to play for liverpool yet. He has his good days and he has his very poor days… I think we should Loan him out to another EPL team. Or at least that is not in Spain, he already has experiences playing all the spanish teams. It would be good for his growth to play against a different set of teams. But if he is on loan in the EPL he can take points off our rivals.

I think we may see him back at Liverpool next season. Champions League football will call for a bigger squad. I think we’ll see a lot of him in domestic cups and against weaker EPL opponents — you know, if he comes back at all.
