Borini Out on Loan, Pacheco to Alcorcon and Given Staying Put

Taking care of bidness
While the News Desk followed all the craziness on what was a rather underwhelming transfer deadline day across the Premier League, Liverpool were hard at work moving some more players out — and trying to bring one in — with Fabio Borini leaving for Sunderland on loan, Dani Pacheco returning to Spain with Alcorcon and Shay Given doing absolutely nothing.

Borini, who cost Liverpool £10.5mil when he joined from Roma last summer, saw himself fall even farther down the Anfield pecking order with the club confirming the capture of Chelsea attacker Victor Moses earlier in the day on a season long loan. The Italian striker will hook up with fellow compatriot and known fascist Paulo di Canio at the Stadium of Light on a season long loan deal as the club try to get the promising striker as much first team football as he can handle. Elsewhere, eternal misfit Dani Pacheco has been allowed to return to Spain for free — and surprisingly not on loan — with Segunda División side AD Alcorcón his final destination.

Dani, who infamously refused to take part in Liverpool’s pre-season tour of Asia, never looked like fulfilling his potential in the famous Red shirt since arriving with so much promise from Barcelona in 2007. Rumour also has it that Brendan Rodgers bid to sign Aston Villa ‘keeper Shay Given on loan fell apart when the two sides were unable to reach an agreement. The Liverpool boss was looking to add competition and experience to a position that has only Aussie shot stopper Brad Jones as backup to Simon Mignolet who was brought in earlier in the transfer window from Sunderland — where Fabio Borini has ended up on loan. Funny how that all works out, isn’t it?
